Meadows Snow

Ross is an established artist living in Edinburgh. He has been painting since he moved here from Dumfries in 1984, and exhibits regularly in joint exhibitions, often in aid of charities - Cancer Research UK, Prince's Trust, Casciani - and in solo shows, including Annandale Distillery (Aug 2015), Edinburgh's Tidalfire, Saint Columba's Hospice and Edinburgh City libraries.

Ross's vibrant watercolours have featured on a book cover and his commissioned work has included Edinburgh's historical buildings, as well as local pubs and restaurants. He was commissioned to paint the winning pub in the Pub of The Year competition, run by Edinburgh City Council, and also one of his Edinburgh Winter paintings was used by the Council as their electronic Xmas card.

He is primarily a watercolourist, though likes to introduce other water-based media into his work. Varying textures by experimenting with various materials particularly interests him.

He works in different styles and enjoys letting the paint influence the finished work.
